Adil al Hinai is a laboratory specialist supervising molecular diagnostics of hematological malignancies and the current Incharge of molecular diagnostics laboratories at the National Genetic Centre (NGC), Royal Hospital. After completing his diploma in 2003 in Medical Laboratory Sciences, he had a one-year internship. He was exposed to various medical laboratory disciplines, such as Hematology, Biochemistry, Histopathology, Microbiology, Blood Transfusion, and Virology. Upon completing his internship program, he was appointed as a laboratory technologist in the Human Genetics section at the Central Public Health Laboratories. In 2004, he got a scholarship to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree at Cardiff Metropolitan University (formerly known as University of Wales, Institute Cardiff) in Cardiff, UK. Subsequently, he did his Master of Science (M.Sc) in Cancer Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Leicester in Leicester, United Kingdom. During his M.Sc he investigated ���the mechanism of anticancer drug-induced cell death using an RNAi approach��� and graduated with a Merit. After obtaining his master���s degree he returned to Oman where he was given the responsibility to establish molecular diagnostics of hematological malignancies. In 2014, he got a scholarship from the Ministry of Health, Oman to pursue a doctoral program. For his PhD studies, he joined Dr. Peter J.M. Valk���s research group in the Hematology Department at the Erasmus University Medical Center, Rotterdam as a Ph.D candidate (promotor Prof. Dr. Ruud Delwel). His PhD thesis is entitled ���Molecular Characterization and residual disease monitoring of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He has several publications in peer-reviewed journals.
