Dr. Christine Chen is an Associate Professor with the University of Toronto (U of T) and Medical Director of the Autologous Stem Cell Transplant and Clinical Immune Effector Cell (IEC) Programs at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (PM) at the University Health Network in Toronto, Canada. Dr.Chen is a clinical investigator with a focus on novel approaches, in particular cell-based therapies, for the management of multiple myeloma, CLL, Waldenstroms Macroglobulinemia and related disorders. PM is the largest tertiary care center for cancer in Canada, performing over 300 autologous stem cell transplants, and seeing over 400 new referrals for Myeloma per year. Dr. Chen led the implementation of the clinical IEC program at Princess Margaret from its inception in 2018, to the largest program in Canada to date. She currently holds the Princess Margaret Bloom Chair for Research in Multiple Myeloma. After completion of internal medicine training at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver and hematology residency training at McMaster University in Hamilton, she completed a clinical research fellowship in autologous transplantation at Princess Margaret, subsequently joining the faculty of the Department of Medical Oncology and Hematology. In addition, she obtained her Masters in Education from the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education at U of T and maintains an active interest in trainee education.
