M.D., Ph.D., and clinical hematologist at the Besan?�on University Hospital in France until 2009, Pierre Tiberghien has headed a regional blood establishment at EFS (Etablissement Fran?�ais du Sang, the French transfusion public service) as well as a University INSERM research laboratory on immune interactions and cellular therapies in Besan?�on, France. Professor of medicine (immunology) at the Franche-Comt?� University, Pierre Tiberghien has lead medicine and research at EFS in Paris from 2009 to 2017. He is presently EFS senior advisor for European and international medical and scientific affairs. Pierre Tiberghien is president of the European Blood Alliance (EBA, an association of not-for-profit blood establishments across Europe) since 2020 and president of the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT).
