After training in internal medicine, pediatrics, and epidemiology at the University of Tennessee and completing a hematology/oncology fellowship at St. Jude Children���s Research Hospital, Scott worked for 14 years as a faculty member treating children with leukemia and lymphoma and conducting research in oncology supportive care, international oncology, and healthcare informatics. After leaving St. Jude in 2014, he founded Resonance, an informatics, consulting, and global health company with a mission to improve care and outcomes in low- and middle-income countries. Its software is currently deployed in several continents and serves as a hospital database, business intelligence tool, and clinical trials management system. Scott has authored or co-authored over 200 scientific papers, 20 book chapters, and a book and spends much of his time conducting translational and clinical research with local and international collaborators. He serves as the Secretary General for the International Pediatric Oncology Society, which promotes childhood cancer care around the world through education and research, and chairs the Board for World Child Cancer USA (www.WorldChildCancer.us), a charity dedicated to improving cancer care in low- and middle-income countries. Scott is a Libra and likes long walks on moonlit beaches. His research interests as a Professor at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center focuses on cancer supportive care, animal models of chemotherapy toxicity, and developing cancer programs in low- and middle-income countries.
