Dr. Hartmut D??hner is Professor of Medicine and Medical Director of the Department of Internal Medicine III at Ulm University, Ulm, Germany, Director of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Ulm (CCCU) (2006-2021), and member of the Scientific Board of the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT). Dr D??hner studied medicine at the Universities of Regensburg, Freiburg (Germany) and Montpellier (France). He received his training in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the University of Heidelberg. Between 1988 and 1990, he spent a two-year period as a post-doctoral associate in the Department of Medicine, Division of Oncology (Prof. Clara Bloomfield) and the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, Division of Medical Genetics (Prof. Diane Arthur), University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA. Dr D??hner���s main research interests are the identification, characterization and clinical diagnosis of genetic changes in hematologic malignancies, including acute and chronic leukaemia, as well as the conduct of clinical trials in acute myeloid leukemia. Dr D??hner is Chair of the German-Austrian AML Study Group (AMLSG). Dr D??hner has received many awards, including the 2014 Jos?� Carreras Award of the European Hematology Association (EHA) and the 2019 Binet-Rai Medal of the International Workshop in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (iwCLL). Dr. D??hner has published more than 500 peer-reviewed papers. Since 2014, Dr. D??hner is listed among the Web of Science Highly Cited Researchers in Clinical Medicine.
